City Folk is a lilting Folk/Prog/World Beat Fusion track inspired by the pulse of urban life. A soundscape recorded right in the heart of Newcastle-upon-Tyne merges with the opening bars of melodic sequences composed in Barnes, London, and laid over with punchy shuffle drums and oriental percussion opening out into rock organ harmonies. The track was first released as a Single in 2016 and later the same year added to a compilation of six singles, Cream of the Summer (2016). It didn’t fit the concept of Witchcraft Jazz (2018), but we think it sits well with Sketchbook so Dmitry remastered it fit the Mini Album’s sonic landscape.
